Description
This fabulous Tekke Turkmen Chuval face, made in the early 1800s, belongs to a rare group of Tekke Turkmen chuvals incorporating the 6 so-called 'Salor' gols in the central field. What is more interesting about this chuval is the drawing of the minor gol - I haven't as yet come across this rendition in other examples? Although a little worn and damaged on the left side, this stunning piece retains its beautiful madder-red field colour and indigo-blues outlining the 'Salor' gols. A very collectable piece.
Size: 1.24m x 0.81m (4' 1" x 2' 8").
Viewing by appointment only.
