Contemporary Baluch Runner, North-East Iran.

Item Ref

A beautiful example from a contemporary vegetable-dye project in north-eastern Iran during the 1990s using Baluch tribes.
The main border is in knotted-pile and the central field lozenges contain highlights of knotted-pile. The rest of the runner is woven in soumack technique - incredibly fine and beautiful work.
Size: 2.86m x 0.86m (9' 6" x 2' 10")
Viewing by appointment only.
