Description
Just in, a fabulous 19th century Qashqa'i tribal small carpet in excellent condition and made by the Amaleh or Arab Cherpanlu taifeh. The field incorporates a myriad of the so-called Qashqa'i 'scorpion' design - where the scorpion woven and knotted into rugs and weavings is supposed to ward off live scorpions! In my experience, sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't!! The weave is very fine and the wool quality soft, glossy and very pliable. A stunning carpet.Size: 2.44m x 1.40m (8' 0" x 4' 7").
