Description

This new arrival is such a magnificent salt-bag (namakdan).
Woven by Shahsevan nomads during the last quarter of the nineteenth century, the fantastic natural colours and fine weft-float brocading on the face is just superb. This certainly ranks amongst the very best of salt-bags. The bag is complete with plain-weave back in horizontal bands of all the colours used in the face, and with original selvedges and tufted corners symbolising 'good luck', this is a highly collectible bag.
Size: 64cm x 48cm (2' 1" x 1' 7").
Viewing by appointment only.
Internal Ref: BM/DA
