Rugs and carpets made by the Timuri tribes in the 19th century incorporated fabulous glowing indigo-blues and this one is no exception. A wonderful small prayer-rug (namazlik) made around 1870 and in very good condition with its original flatwoven brocaded skirts at each end - a highly desirable feature in the antique rugs and carpets of the Timuri and their near neighbours, the Baluch.
