Description
Woven in soumak technique by Bakhtiari tribes around the end of the 19th century, this small vanity-bag (chanteh) comprises two 'snowflake' lozenges on a madder-red ground with an extra ivory panel at the top. The selvedges are over-bound in original multi-coloured wool and the back of the bag is woven in plain-weave technique.
In excellent condition.
