This charming little rug was made by Arab nomads within the Khamseh Confederacy - a confederation of 5 tribes - in Fars Province, south-west Persia circa 1900. The rug is in excellent condition - full pile - with a glowing indigo-blue field and spandrels of madder-red. Within the spandrels are stylised peacocks - symbols of immortality and divine protection.
Size: 1.60m x 1.15m (5' 3" x 3' 9").
