antique kilim qashqa'i tribes fars province southwest persia

Antique Kilim, Qashqa'i Tribes, Fars Province, South-West Persia.

Item Ref

This magnificent kilim has a bold yet stunning field design where the weaver has spontaneously incorporated tribal symbols, particularly towards the top. Woven by Qashqa'i nomads around 1900, the kilim is in excellent condition.
Kilims were specifically made for compartmentalising the black tents and for covering the bedding around the circumference of the tents during sedentary periods.
Today, they look amazing on wooden floors with a good underlay.
