Description

Just arrived and in near-mint condition, this gorgeous Timuri rug is in amazing condition with highlights of green silk throughout. The central 'tree-of-life' has branches protruding from it and surrounded by a multitude of symbols - stunning and subtle in its drawing. The madder-red main border depicts a continuous vine - symbolically representing the eternal cycle of life.
Some minor re-binding is required on the selvedges where there has been some minor wear and this will be done prior to selling it. Made circa 1880 -1900, the rug has been washed and the wool quality is superb.
Size: 2.44m x 1.27m (8' 0" x 4' 2").
Viewing by appointment only.
