An attractive kilim made circa 1880-1900 by Qashqa'i nomads in Fars Province, south-west Persia. The madder-red field contains a nicely-balanced pattern of Qashqa'i 'birds-heads' symbols, surrounded by a sky-blue and rustic inner border. The kilim is in generally very good overall condition and retaining its attractive skirts at each end.
