Description
This amazing rug was made by Afshar nomads around 1880 and depicts a field full of stylised chickens all pecking at seeds on the ground on a beautiful mid-blue ground. Particularly attractive also, is the sky-blue main border depicting a flower and vine pattern. The rug is in very good condition with no repairs whatsoever and the stunning natural colours glow with happiness.
A fabulous example of Afshar tribal work.
