Although I'm a tribal man at heart, I couldn't resist buying this beautiful, green-field, silk Kashan rug when it was offered to me recently. It was acquired in the 1960s from Liberty, London and had been hanging on the previous owner's wall since then - the hanging rings are still attached - so it has been well cared for and is in really excellent condition. I've just had it expertly washed and it is now glowing. Made in the early 20th century in Kashan, this rug is a wonderful example of early silk weaving in central Persia.
Size: 2.08 x 1.27m (6' 10" x 4' 2").
