Description
This magnificent glowing-blue ground rug was made in Khotan, eastern Turkistan, during the mid 19th century.It comprises three central roundels or flowers and surrounded with various Turkistani symbols.
In amazing condition for its age, the wool is soft and can be likened to silk-velvet!
Khotan rugs of this age and condition are today, extremely rare.
