Description
The overall ground in this fabulous rug, made by Bakhtiari tribes circa 1900, is covered in the 'mina khani' pattern or nectar blossom design. The rug is in near-mint condition with lustrous, glossy wool, taken from the mountain fat-tailed sheep, knotted on a cotton foundation. The main border contains a continuous vine symbolising the eternal cycle of life.Size: 2.26 x 1.05m (7' 5" x 3' 5").
