Description
No, this is not a salt-bag!This is a very rare small bag where the neck is folded over to protect the contents, namely a pipe and tobacco.
Woven by Afshar nomads in Kerman province circa 1900-1920, the bag is woven in reverse off-set soumak technique on the face and neck and with plain-weave on the back. The selvedges on the main part of the bag are overbound in two-colour looped chain stitch and it is complete with braided carry-strap.
