Description
A unique and beautiful pair of saddle-bags - 'khorjin' in Persian - made by a weaver of the Qashqa'i Darrehshureh tayefeh circa 1900. The weaving is referred to as 'moj' or twill-weave with double-interlocked tapestry technique in a design not unfamiliar with the tartan of the Highland Scottish clans. The weaver has inserted tufts of natural-dye wool on both faces of the khorjin, symbols of good-luck.This is a truly fantastic example of a now, very rare type of khorjin, in near-mint condition.
